Everyone's favorite genius, billionaire, playboy, philanthropist, Iron Man, civilian name Anthony Edward "Tony" Stark, is the first recruitable character in Avengers Academy. His Mission Board Quests can be found here.
Requirements
Since you start the game with Iron Man, there are no requirements to recruit him.
Upgrades
Each time Iron Man is upgraded, he gives +10% on Mission Board Quests.

Facial Features
Tony Stark has dark pale skin, dark brown hair, and brown eyes.
Rank Appearance
Tony's Rank 1 outfit is a jacket stylized to look like the Iron Man armor. He also has an Iron Man gauntlet on his right hand and Iron Man boots. His arc reactor is visible through the unzipped jacket.
Tony's Rank 3 outfit is an upgrade midway between his original casual wear and the final Iron Man armor. The armor plating now covers his arms entirely and protects his neck and ears. His chest plate is integrated with his arc reactor and pieces of the armor are strapped to his thighs and abdomen.
Tony's Rank 5 outfit is his Iron Man armor, complete with the additional of a helmet and more features.
Story
Joining Academy
When Nick Fury created Avengers Academy, Tony Stark was the first student to be recruited, upon arriving at the Academy the first thing he did was begin construction of the Academy's very own Stark Tower so he could keep his way of living and his gadgets while staying at the Academy.
Future
Sometime in the future, Iron Man would engage in a battle that would cost him his helmet. His damaged helmet would be thrown into the Timefog and found in the past.
Character Relationships
Black Widow
Black Widow (Natasha) was another early recruit to Avengers Academy. Tony flirts with her a lot, but she always turns him down harshly.
Black Cat
Black Cat pretends to go on a date with Tony in order to hack into the Stark Tower database.
Captain America
Captain America (Steve) and Tony don't always see eye to eye, but they're usually friendly and sometimes flirty. The Civil War Event tested the bonds of their friendship, but they made it to the other side as a team once more.
Crimson Dynamo
Crimson Dynamo told Iron Man she wants four things from him: his technology, school business, respect, and hand in marriage.
Enchantress
Thanks to her powers, Tony is a little in love with Enchantress (although he draws the line at helping her assassinate people).
Falcon
Falcon (Sam) and Tony haven't interacted all that much yet, but they did have a "boys night out" with Loki in the Stark Tower hot tub.
Hank Pym
Hank Pym is one of the teachers at Avengers Academy. He keeps encouraging Tony to do crazier and crazier things, to the point of electrocuting him to encourage creations like the Ultron robots.
Loki
Loki and Tony tend to get along pretty well. At one point, they had a very flirty study date.
Misty Knight
Iron Man built Misty Knight's bionic arm.
Moon Girl
Iron Man is intimidated by Moon Girl because she's smarter than him, but she reminds him of himself. He gives her a lab and is proud of her successes.
Moon Knight
Iron Man's a fan of Moon Knight's technology. Moon Knight claims they hang out all the time, but Iron Man insists that the Avengers Halloween Event is the first time they've ever met.
Ms. Marvel
Ms. Marvel (Kamala) and Tony have not interacted much yet. She's a fan of his (as she is of every student at the Academy). According to Pepper, he is the one who ultimately convinced her to join the school.
Nick Fury
Nick Fury was the one who invited Tony to Avengers Academy. He's harsh on Tony because he wants Tony to reach his full potential.
Pepper Potts
Tony flirts with Pepper Potts a lot, but she always turns him down. Once she becomes a student at the Academy, she becomes more receptive to his advances. She also tells Nick Fury that he needs to tone down his harsh attitude towards Tony. Tony proposed that Pepper lead Stark Industries, however she's not sure if that's what she wants to do with her life.
Vision
Vision and Tony have not interacted much yet. However in the Civil War storyline Vision confides to Black Panther that even though Tony is arrogant and short-sighted, he is a true friend, and thus Vision is gladly in "Team Stark".
Viv
Tony and Viv bond over discussing their relationship with their fathers
War Machine
War Machine (Rhodey) is Tony's best friend and sidekick (according to Tony). Tony built him a special suit so they could be superheroes together.
Wasp
Wasp (Janet) and Tony were two of the first students at Avengers Academy. They're very similar, so they've become fast friends. When Tony was feeling down about his father, Janet tried to cheer him up. Janet frequently asks Tony to build her things (such as a new phone when she first arrived, or a "robot that bloops!" during the Guardians of the Galaxy event). During the A.I.M. Attacks! Event, Tony said that Wasp is his best friend.
Whiplash
Whiplash held a grudge against Iron Man for the destruction of his village. The Iron Man armor used to destroy his village was hacked and out of Tony's control, but Whiplash still held him accountable because he built the armor. After forgiving Iron Man and joining the Academy, Iron Man helps Whiplash travel back in time and stop his father, Dr. Vanko, from selling weaponized arc reactors.
